AFL Cape York Boys House is a Cairns-based 48-bed residential facility split into two living blocks.
Each block features a living area, kitchenette, laundry, showers and toilets as well as a carers room for house parents staying on residence.
All student rooms are fitted with a desk, chair, bed, individual closet, an adjustable pitch ceiling fan and air conditioner.
Linen and pillows are provided but boarders are asked to supply their own towels.
Student living quarters overlook two major recreation areas with a beach volleyball court and football field just metres away.
There is also sheltered multipurpose sports hub includes change rooms and canteen.
The House also features a purpose-built classroom for nightly tutorial sessions, a common area and dining room, infirmary and kitchen.
A variety of meals are offered for breakfast and school lunches can be prepared from our sandwich bar. Afternoon tea and dinner are served after school and a fresh assortment of fruit is available any time of day for snacks.
Weekend activities are run by house parents for students staying on residence and include beach trips and water activities. Barbecues are generally cooked by on Saturday and Sunday evening.
Students can also make use of our outdoor gym with additional equipment available upon request.
